MZ EXPANDS MANAGEMENT Along with the Managing Director, R. Vasuthewan he will lead the legendary Saxon company with responsibility for sales, marketing and product planning. With the appointment of Dr. Baumgrtner, MZ intends to intensify its presence in the European Big Bike segment and wants to optimise its sales and marketing initiatives. Dr. Baumgrtner has studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Munich and earned a doctorate in the area of combustion engines at the University of Cambridge. In 1995/96 he served MZ as a project manager for engine development. Since 2000, Dr. Baumgrtner has worked for the international management consultancy Bain&Company. He led projects in Europe and Japan for clients in the automotive industry, predominantly addressing issues of sales, product innovation and restructuring. An MZ owner himself, Dr. Baumgrtner is a passionate motorbike racer, and has participated in the MZ-Cup successfully since 2000.
