Given the stats, it’s understandable that most insurers won’t touch the Rocket III. Bikesure is different. In keeping with its ‘freethinking insurance’ motto, the company has quickly developed a scheme for the new bike that means lucky owners can be street legal at a reasonable rate.

“This Rocket isn’t just an insurance problem because it’s so powerful,” says Bikesure operations manager Rob Balls, “it’s also a step into the unknown: it’s got no history and there’s not another bike that compares to it. You could probably call developing a scheme for it rocket science, but we love a challenge.”

Bikesure’s Rocket III scheme offers either fully comp or TPF&T cover. Typically a premium for a 30 year old male living in a medium risk area, such as Northampton, will cost from around £393.00 per year for fully comp, assuming maximum no claims bonus.
