GLASGOW have snapped up James Birkinshaw in a loan deal from Premier League rivals Sheffield.

Birkinshaw has invested heavily in new equipment and is training hard for the new season. Glasgow co-promoter Stewart Dickson said: ''James has always had a reputation of being only a big track rider which is what is needed in our side, but he has performed well here at Ashfield in the past.''
