COVENTRY have ruled out top trio Greg Hancock, Billy Hamill and Lee Richardson - after agreeing terms with a leading Grand Prix star. The Bees have held talks with all three assets but the club have now moved their plans elsewhere.
Bees co-promoter Jeremy Heaver said: ''We wish all three of them all the very best in the future. They will always be made very welcome here at Brandon.'' REIGNING Elite League champions Poole have taken another big step towards completing their team with the signings of Krzysztof Kasprzak and Matej Ferjan. Both riders played a major role in the club''s success last season and their return is no major surprise. Pirates co-promoter Matt Ford said: ''It''s good news for the club and great to have both of them back on board with us for next year.'' PETER Toogood has gained full control of Premier League Somerset after successful negotiations with the Hewlett family. Toogood, the British Speedway chairman, is determined to develop the club into a major force. He said: ''At this time I feel it is important to recognise the part played by the Hewlett family in bringing speedway to Somerset in the first place, along with the co-operation of our landlord, Bill Hancock.'' EDINBURGH have signed talented teenager William Lawson on loan from Newcastle for next season. Lawson, 17, is from Perthshire and knows the Armadale track well having spent time training there. He said: ''I am keen to get going again, and intend to get as much track time as I can before the start of the season. I want to be race sharp by the first match.''
