DR. REINHARD MESCHKAT COMPLEMENTS BERU’S EXECUTIVE BOARD

Dr. Reinhard Meschkat has joined BERU AG’s Executive Board. He will assume responsibility for Production, Logistics and Quality Control of the Ludwigsburg-based automotive supplier.

The 46-year old Dr. Meschkat, with a doctorate in manufacturing systems
engineering, carries substantial experience in several executive positions as Plant
Manager and Managing Director at Faurecia Autositze GmbH, a subsidiary of the
French group Faurecia S.A. In his last position, Dr. Meschkat was Managing Director
of the Customer Division GM/Ford/VW Group, responsible for development, sales
distribution and production of the product group Seating Equipment, having
previously held that position with responsibility for the VW Group Customer
Division.

Prior to his employment at Faurecia, he had worked for Brose Fahrzeugteile GmbH & Co. KG as a production manager at a manufacturing plant, responsible for production planning, logistics and quality. He had also successfully implemented Kaizen into the production system.

The Supervisory Board of BERU AG during its December 15th, 2004 meeting
appointed Meschkat to become a member of the Executive Board effective from
February, 1st , 2005. Meschkat will assume responsibility for Production, Logistics
and Quality Control, which have been under the provisional supervision of the
Chairman of the Executive Board of BERU AG, Marco von Maltzan, after Bernhard
Herzig resigned in April 2004. Dr. Meschkat will be the third member of BERU’s
Executive Board next to Marco von Maltzan and Dr. Rainer Podeswa, who is
responsible for Research and Development and Sales OEM.
