BRITISH Grand Prix star Scott Nicholls will officially sign for Coventry at lunchtime this Saturday.
Nicholls joins the Bees in a full transfer from his hometown club Ipswich with a fee yet to be agreed. He will be at Brandon to sign his contract from midday and season tickets will be on sale from the stadium at the same time in an impressive public relations move by the ambitious Bees. WORKINGTON are close to agreement on a new signing to bolster the top end of their team. New Comets boss Graham Drury is looking for a rider to provide backing for Carl Stonehewer and Kauko Nieminen following the departure of Simon Stead to Belle Vue. He said: ''Things are moving fairly quickly in our negotiations and I would expect an announcement within the next few days.'' SOMERSET are closing in on their fifth team member for next season. The Rebels already have Magnus Zetterstrom, Paul Fry, Glenn Cunningham and Ritchie Hawkins as confirmed starters for what will be an important season at the Oak Tree Arena. Promoter Peter Toogood said: ''I''m delighted with the progress we are making on the team front and I feel we will be stronger than we were this year.''
