10 December 2004 - British Speedway Promoters Association

COVENTRY and Edinburgh have agreed on a fee for highly-rated Aussie youngster Rory Schlein.

The two clubs had been at loggerheads over the valuation of the rider, but they have reached a settlement for an undisclosed fee after talks between Coventry''s Colin Pratt and Edinburgh promoter Alex Harkess. Schlein, who has returned to Australia for the winter, has already agreed personal terms with Coventry for 2005.

PETERBOROUGH have announced four of their starting seven riders for 2005 with two new faces already confirmed for the Alwalton club. American showman Billy Janniro joins on loan from Coventry, whilst the Panthers have also agreed a deal with Eastbourne for Finn Joonas Kylmakorpi. Henning Bager and Ales Dryml are retained whilst Berwick''s Pole Adam Pietraszko will also be part of the Panthers'' Elite League squad.

OXFORD boss Nigel Wagstaff believes he can track a team to challenge for the Elite League crown - if a new lease agreement can be agreed with his Cowley Stadium landlords. Wagstaff is still waiting for a response from the GRA to his proposal for a Thursday racenight. He said: ''Subject to a new lease agreement, I believe the Oxford fans will be impressed with the team.''
