WOLVERHAMPTON SPEEDWAY
05 December 2004 - British Speedway Promoters Association

MAGNUS Karlsson has accepted an offer to ride for Wolverhampton in the Elite League on a full-time basis next season.

The younger brother of Monmore legends Peter and Mikael has enjoyed two successive Premier League titles with Edinburgh and Hull but now feels the time is right to step up. He now joins David Howe, who is expected to finalise terms this week, and fellow Swede Fredrik Lindgren on the 2005 Wolverhampton teamsheet. Wolverhampton promoter Chris Van Straaten said: ''We made Magnus an offer and he went back to Sweden to think it over and talk to his family. ''I think riders sit in the Premier League too long at times and this is the right time for Magnus to step up as he cannot achieve much more at that level. ''He has great potential and now has good experience under his belt to come and join us and do a very effective job.''
