The membrane specialist Gore, the name which has guaranteed waterproof and breathable motorcycle boots for many years, has entered a new dimension.

GORE-TEXXCR Motorcycle Boots from Daytona and Hein Gericke offer the highest level of climate comfort, most notably, in warm seasons.

People who primarily relate GORE-TEX motorcycle boots with protection from the rain or cold need to adjust their thinking because
GORE-TEX XCR shoes – XCR stands for eXtended Comfort Range – are the perfect All-rounder. Extremely breathable, durably waterproof and at the same time always comfortable and dry feet, even outdoors in the nicest weather – these are the advantages of this new generation of motorcycle boots.

GORE-TEX® XCR® shoes were successfully launched in the Outdoor and Casual markets already in 2002. Now at last, bikers can also profit from this new technology. In comparison to the classic GORE-TEX® motorcycle boots, the construction, to a large extent, has no layers of insulation. Additionally, all the components are extremely breathable, and extensive requirements are placed particularly on the selected upper materials. The result: excess heat and moisture are immediately transferred from the feet to the outside. Thus, the feet are always comfortable and dry, even on tours through Southern Europe in the summer. Suitable styles for this end use are those from Daytona and Hein Gericke. These boots are very light and designed with uppers, which with heights of about 20 centimeters are not cut too high. And in case someone is, in fact, suddenly caught in the rain: GORE-TEX® XCR® shoes are of course, absolutely waterproof!

The classic GORE-TEX® boots are still the first choice for tours in cold weather or between seasons, as they offer an insulation effect because of the non-woven layer and the use of thicker upper materials. For many years, GORE-TEX® motorcycle boots have been the best for bikers, and are available from Daytona and Hein Gericke, and also from Alpinestars, BMW, Dainese and Oxtar.

Before GORE-TEX® - and GORE-TEX® XCR® motorcycle boots are put on the market, they are put through extensive laboratory tests. The standards for these tests were developed from actual use performance. Shoes „walk“, for example, 300,000 steps in a basin of water in a walking simulator, to test if they are durably waterproof. This corresponds to walking approximately 500 kilometers through a wet field.
For breathability, not only the individual components are tested, but also the finished shoe: artificial „sweaty“ feet are placed in shoes; by measuring the weight of the shoe and the evaporation, the breathability is determined. The breathability standard level was purposely raised even higher for GORE-TEX® XCR® boots, and completely new standards were set – „test“ the difference for yourself!

So that bikers can trust the promise „GUARANTEED TO KEEP YOU DRY ® “ in every „curve“ - tests are performed on the boots in the development stages, and also on boots from production.

The Daytona „Journey XCR“ is available for a recommended price of 134,95 Euro , the Hein Gericke „T – 1R“ for 119,95 Euro.
