ARENA Essex have completed a new deal with Paul Hurry for their second season in the Elite League.
The former Great Britain international joins Gary Havelock, Josh Larsen and Mark Loram as a confirmed starter for next year. Promoter Ronnie Russell said: ''Paul is still capable of beating the best riders on his day and he is an important signing for us. He has a big part to play.'' COVENTRY''S Swedish Grand Prix star Andreas Jonsson has explained the reasons behind his decision to sit out the Elite League next year. He said: ''I spent too much time sitting in airports and on planes last season, and it affected my energy levels and concentration. ''I felt tired, and I was unable to give 100 per cent in every meeting so I decided I needed to do something about it.'' WEYMOUTH want to change their racenight to Tuesday for next season in a bid to attract more holidaymakers to the Wessex Stadium. That would mean a return to their old traditional racenight which proved successful at their former home. Chairman Brian White said: ''Friday is really a changeover day for a lot of people on holiday in the area and I feel a Tuesday would give us a better chance.''
