WOLVERHAMPTON SPEEDWAY
01 December 2004 - British Speedway Promoters Association

FREDRIK Lindgren has handed Wolverhampton a massive boost by agreeing a new deal to stay at Monmore Green.

Lindgren was expected to leave the club after admitting his dislike of the track - but he has now had a change of heart and is determined to master the midlands circuit. Promoter Chris Van Straaten said: Van Straaten said: ''We''re thrilled with this news, Freddie has never actually done a full season with us and he has now made a firm decision to stay with us. ''He is a very talented rider and we feel he has what it takes to go a very long way in the sport.''

SIMON Stead will ride for Belle Vue next season - but he admits he agaonised over the decision NOT to ride for Wolves. The talented youngster will continue to ride under the Tony Mole banner after two seasons with Workington - and that moves him closer to a testimonial. He said: ''It was a straight choice between Belle Vue and Wolverhampton and I must say Wolverhampton could not have done anything more to get me there. ''They made me a superb offer, above anything that I could have expected, but the chance to ride with Jason Crump and work for Tony Mole and Ian Thomas once again was too good an opportunity to miss.''
