SHEFFIELD SPEEDWAY

SHEFFIELD have completed the signing of Paul Cooper for his debut Premier League season.

Cooper has been a regular in the club''s Conference League team for the past two seasons and now feels ready to make the step up. Tigers co-promoter Neil Machin said: ''I''ve known about Paul Cooper for a few years now, mostly for his grasstrack and longtrack abilities. ''I''ve had to keep him very quiet for a couple of years because I knew he was getting through his apprenticeship as a cabinet-maker, and he was never going to move into speedway full-time prior to the completion of that.''
