SPEEDWAY NEWS 25.11.04
25 November 2004 - British Speedway Promoters Association

SHEFFIELD are on the verge of announcing the signing of a mystery new rider, with the Tigers believed to have fought off competition from several clubs.

It is understood that a verbal agreement has been reached with the rider, with the deal expected to be signed by the weekend. Promoter Neil Machin said: ''I feel sure the fans will approve of the man in question.''

THE Isle of Wight have released both Ray Morton and Glen Phillips, and co-promoter Dave Pavitt has said that more changes could follow. The pair have both been with the club since the late Nineties, but have now been made available to other clubs. Pavitt said: ''We need some new blood at the club and that is why riders have had to leave.''
