EVERY HOME SHOULD HAVE ONE
30 November 2004 - Peugeot
Peugeot are celebrating the success of their modular Ludix scooter range, launched earlier this year, which has led to the Company achieving a 3% increase in market share across Europe.
In the UK, during October, combined sales of the Ludix 50cc range equalled those of the Peugeot’s iconic Speedfight, which is the undisputed best-selling scooter of the modern era. Peugeot, have a reputation for defining trends on two wheels, as they proved when they introduced the Speedfight in the mid-1990’s and created the trend for ‘sports’ scooters. Both the Speedfight 50cc & 100cc models remain in the UK’s top 3 best-selling scooters and the Speedfight 100 is the best selling European scooter in its market sector. “This is the second phase of Peugeot’s success in the UK,” comments Richard Davies, of UK importers 3X. “Peugeot have read the market and developed a scooter that offers jam-busting transport at an incredible price, wrapped up in a great-looking package.” With a starting price of just £799 on the road for the entry level Ludix One, this is the least expensive European scooter by quite some margin and offers would-be customers the reassurance of the Peugeot brand. In fact, the Ludix offers fantastic value compared with many other modern appliances, such as plasma wide-screen TV’s (at over £1,000) or American style fridges (between £1-2,000), hence Peugeot’s claim that every home should have one. The Ludix Snake has proved particularly popular with younger riders, thanks to its aggressive urban appearance, including polyelipsoidal headlight and surprising performance, provided by 50cc IAE system induction engine and cat exhaust. Priced at £1,149 the Ludix Snake uses colour impregnated body panels that can withstand the knocks and scratches of youthful exuberance and panels can be replaced easily and inexpensively when needed. The Peugeot Ludix range starts at £799- on the road and all models benefit from a 2-year warranty.
