SPEEDWAY NEWS 21.11.04
21 November 2004 - British Speedway Promoters Association

SWINDON have signed Swedish teenager Sebastian Alden despite interest from other Elite League clubs. Alden, 19, is expected to follow in the footsteps of fellow countrymen Antonio Lindback and Fredrik Lindgren by forging a successful British career.

Robins boss Alun Rossiter said: ''I''ve been reading speculation linking us with the boy for a while but I couldn''t confirm it until he signed the contract which I received on Saturday morning.''

COVENTRY boss Colin Pratt has welcomed a return to averages for Elite League clubs to build teams for next season. The points limit is 42.5 after one season of gradings which were used to distribute riders to new members of the top flight. ''It is a better system,'' said Pratt, ''and unlike this year, it will allow teams to strengthen up if they find themselves struggling. I am happy with the move.''
