NEW MICHELIN TRACKDAY AND CLUBMAN SLICKS
01 June 2004 - Michelin Tyre plc

Michelin has launched two new slick tyres, the Clubman and Trackday.

The Clubman slick is designed for club racers looking for a value for money tyre option and the Trackday slick is for riders who prefer to fit slick tyres to their road bikes for trackdays.

The Clubman slick uses a harder compound for longevity but with a casing that ensures quick warm-up times. The pointed profile of the front tyre is particularly suited to race-bike set-up as it offers quick turn-in to corners and good mid-corner grip.

The Trackday slick differs from the Clubman in that it has a more rounded profile to suit the set-up of standard road bikes. This means riders can concentrate on having fun rather that spending time worrying about suspension settings. The more user-friendly profile also has the added benefit of giving riders high levels of feedback and more neutral handling characteristics.

The Clubman and Trackday slicks are not road legal and are available in 12/60-17 front and 18/67-17 rear sizes. On road bikes these replace 120/60R17, 120/65R17 and 120/70R17 front tyres, and 180/55R17 and 190/50R17 rears.
