SHEFFIELD SPEEDWAY
12 November 2004 - British Speedway Promoters Association

NEIL Machin insists he hasn''t held talks with any Sheffield rider about next season.

The Pirtek Tigers co-promoter is preparing for the sport''s AGM in London next week when the final make-up of the Premier League will be decided. He said: ''Until we get the points limit in place it''s no good me talking to riders and that goes for the rest of the teams in the league. ''I could talk to riders and promise them a team place only to then have to tell them I cannot fit them in - that wouldn''t be good enough. ''I''m hopeful of a 45-point limit because that would represent a strong product for us to sell to our supporters.''
