BMW AT THIS YEAR’S TOURATECH TRAVEL EVENT
21 March 2009 - BMW Motorrad GB

27-29 March in the Brecon Beacons in south Wales.

This year’s two day Touratech Travel Event will take place from the 27-29 March 09 in the stunning setting of the Brecon Beacons in south Wales.

The two day event, in its second consecutive year, will celebrate motorcycle overlanding and hopes to bring together around 1000 motorcycling enthusiasts to enjoy the adventure.
Unique to this year’s event will be BMW’s highly skilled Rider Training instructors conducting demonstrations of the new low seat BMW bikes, giving more customers the opportunity to test ride the bikes.

On and off-road ride outs will also feature as a highlight of the event. BMW Rider Training instructors and BMW’s chief Off Road Skills instructor Simon Pavey and his team will be leading the trips.

The Travel Event will also be the starting point for two epic journeys- GlobeBusters managers and Double Guiness World Record Holders, Kevin and Julia Sanders will be heading out to Beijing on the BMW R 1200 GS and the R 1200 GS Adventure, whilst Walter Colebatch will be commencing his Sibirsky Extreme trip from Wales to the depths of Siberia on his BMW G 650 Xchallenge.
Motorcycles on display will include Charley Boorman’s F 650 GS ‘Race to Dakar’ bike and Simon Pavey’s G 650 Xchallenge that he used for the 2009 Dakar rally. Additionally, two R 1150 GS Guinness World Record™ bikes which classified as fastest Circumnavigation in the World in 2002 and Trans Americas by Motorcycle in 2003 will be exhibited at the event.

Other entertainment will include motorcycle adventure riders talking about their multitude of experiences, motocross demos and evening entertainment. Billy Ward will host a Friday night chat, with Julia Sanders, Tamsin James and Patsy Quick representing women in motorcycling. The Touratech shop, with demo bikes, will also be open and plenty of food and drink will be available throughout the course of the weekend.

Managing Director of Touratech UK, Nick Plumb, said: “The event looks set to go exceedingly well this year. Registrations are going well and lots of people have already registered with most of these camping on site. So if you haven''t registered yet don''t miss out on some great talks, amazing rides and of course the party atmosphere over the whole weekend.”
