NEW SCOOTER IMMOBILSER
14 January 2009 - Acumen Elecrtronics

Acumen has developed an engine immobiliser specifically for scooters and sub-125cc motorcycles.

Research published by the Home Office clearly shows that motorcycles and scooters under 125cc are at significantly greater risk of theft than larger capacity motorcycles (making up 76% of all bike thefts).

Acumen, the UK’s only independent manufacturer of electronic motorcycle security, have developed an engine immobiliser specifically for scooters and sub-125cc motorcycles. This neat system automatically immobilises the machine, 30 seconds after the engine is switched off. Unlike conventional immobilisers the system requires no power from the vehicle battery, as it has its own internal battery supply that is recharged every time the vehicle is ridden, so it won''t drain the vehicle''s battery.

It is operated with a stainless steel touch key and pad – simply touch the pad with the unique key and then start the machine with the ignition key as normal. A two-colour LED status display (red for ‘stop’ and green for ‘go’) indicates whether the machine is immobilised.

Measuring just 55mm x 55mm x 30mm the Acumen scooter immobiliser is small enough to fit into the tightest spaces and its microprocessor controlled system is 100% waterproof. The Acumen Scooter Immobiliser is supplied with two touch keys, and all necessary wiring looms priced at £99.99 inc. VAT.
