Skidmarx have introduced new screens and a hugger for the 2008 Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade, including a replica of the screen used John McGuinness when he won this year’s Senior TT on the Padgett’s Manx Gas Racing Honda.

Skidmarx manufacture their screens by hand in the UK from 3mm acrylic and this gives them the flexibility to create a variety of shapes and sizes to suit the requirements of top race teams, like Rizla Suzuki and Airwaves Ducati in BSB. Three versions are produced for the CBR1000RR – standard, double bubble and McGuinness replica – all of which are designed to replace the original item using the existing mounting points and fasteners. The double bubble is modelled on the company’s racing screens while the McGuinness replica is larger and creates a bigger air pocket, making riding at speed and over distance more comfortable. Owners can choose from clear, light or dark tints at the retail price of £49.95.

Matching Skidmarx headlight covers are also available, offering protection to valuable light units from stone chips and road debris. Formed from 3mm acrylic to follow the complex shapes of modern light units, they are held securely in place with Scotch Lock fixing pads and retail for £19.50.

For the opposite end of the Fireblade, Skidmarx produce a rear hugger that bolts directly to existing mounting points and sits neatly under the rear shock reservoir, slotting over the chain guard. Manufactured in the UK from GRP glass fibre, the Firblade hugger weighs less than 650g and comes in black at £69.95 inc. VAT. There is also carbon fibre option, at approximately half the weight of GRP, costing £129.95.
