FREE, ONE-DAY SHOW FOR BIKERS IN NORTH WEST
30 March 2008 - Ride Safe Back Safe
RideSafe event in Lytham St Annes on Sunday 13th April.
Motorcyclists, holidaymakers and Lancashire locals will be treated to a day of live music at this years RideSafe Rendezvous in Lytham St Annes on Sunday 13th April. The free, one-day show for bikers from across the North West region and further afield, has expanded its appeal since being launched in 2006 and local bands the Lancashire Hot Pots and August will perform folk music with humour and rock music with attitude for an estimated 6,000 visitors. With band members such as Dickie Ticker, Bob Wriggles and Willie Eckerslike, the Lancashire Hot Pots don’t like to be taken too seriously whilst performing 21st century folk music for 21st century folk. Although, lead singer and aspiring bike rider Bernard Thresher will be taking his Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) very seriously shortly before appearing at the show. Haywood based 3-piece rock band August will pay homage to the likes of Jimi Hendrix and Black Sabbath. The hugely successful stunt show returns with a heady mix of motorcycles, scooters, trials bikes and mountain bikes, together with a Russian-built military bike with sidecar and a demonstration by a Straightliners drag racing bike. As well as the entertainment zone, food court and exhibition area, the RideSafe Rendezvous will focus heavily on providing information and advice about motorcycle tests, skills training and protective clothing for all bikers and those thinking of buying their first bike. The RideSafe BackSafe team, riding instructors, Police motorcyclists and a number of other industry experts will be on hand to help with a simple message - Riding a motorcycle can and should be enjoyable, but as a vulnerable road user the correct information, training and clothing will make you a better and safer biker. The RideSafe Rendezvous will be held on Sunday 13th April at Fairhaven Lake, Lytham St Annes, from 10.30am – 5.00pm and entry is free to all.
