SOUTHAMPTON EASTER EGG RUN
16 March 2008 - Harley-Davidson UK
From Dockgate 20 Harley Davidson
A successful local toy run is taking to the roads again this weekend to bring smiles to the faces of children in Southampton and Poole General Hospitals. The event – organised by Dockgate 20 Harley-Davidson and Buell in Millbrook – has continued support from celebrity chef James Martin and the New Forest Branch of the Harley Owners Group (HOG). The toy run also welcomes new support from musician Paul Young and the Hairy Bikers this year. The four celebrity Harley-Davidson enthusiasts will meet other riders at Dockgate 20 Harley-Davidson and Buell at the Second Avenue dealership ahead of the ride beginning at 10.30am on Sunday 16 March. They will all take to the road aboard thundering V-twin motorcycles from the legendary American motorcycle manufacturer. The route will first take riders to Southampton General Hospital to make a donation to the children’s ward before heading to meet children at Poole hospital with further generous gifts. Last year’s event attracted 400 motorcycles and the New Forest Branch of HOG – the world’s largest manufacturer-supported owners group – is hoping to improve on that next week. The Dockgate 20 Harley-Davidson and Buell toy run is open to motorcycles from any manufacturer and all motorcyclists are encouraged to take part. There is a small charge of £5 per bike to take part and all proceeds raised will be used for charitable purposes. Dockgate 20 Harley-Davidson Dealer Principal Tony Tate, said: “The toy run is an extremely successful event for a worthwhile cause. We are thrilled that we have attracted further support from well-known celebrities and we are grateful for the continued support from James Martin and the HOG Chapter. I hope that their commitment and dedication will inspire others to join in the fun and support the cause.” For further details please call in to Dockgate 20 Harley-Davidson and Buell at the Second Avenue dealership in Millbrook or visit www.dg20-hd.com
