Q8Oils have been selected as official lubricant supplier to Quay Garage Racing, one of the most successful ‘privateer’ teams in the recent history of the British Superbike Championship.

This will be the fifth year that Leeds-based Q8Oils have actively competed in BSB and their record should keep Quay Garage on track to lift the hotly contested BSB Cup. In 2004, their first year in BSB, Q8Oils saw John Reynolds win the championship for them, followed by Gregorio Lavilla the following year. Airwaves Ducati took the Manufacturers’ title with them in 2006 and were runners up in 2007.

Quay Garage Racing, whose base is in North Devon, has an impressive pedigree too, taking the ‘privateers cup’ with James Buckingham in 2005 and coming a close second last year.

For 2008 James Buckingham will return to the Quay Garage team, who have switched to Honda for the 2008 British Superbike Cup. James will use a 2007 Paul Bird-prepared Honda Fireblade CBR1000RR in the twelve-round series which kicks off at Brands Hatch on the 4th of April.

The reputation of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship has grown so that it attracts the top British racers and many high-level competitors from around the world too, competing on high powered, production-based, 200mph race bikes. This sustained growth, television coverage and record numbers of spectators cements the series as the most important motorsport championships in the UK.

The lubricants used by the team are blended in Q8Oils'' purpose-built plant in Leeds, just like the Company''s range of MOTO SBK oils that are available to road riders.
