NEW MATT BLACK HELMET
12 March 2008 - Vemar

With memory foam cheeck pads to keep their shape.

Vemar have given their VTXE touring helmet a matt black paint job that creates a mean and moody appearance on the outside while on the inside it offers an outstanding fit and high levels of comfort.

Unlike the majority of helmets in its price bracket the VTXE uses not one, or two, but three sizes of outer shell, giving a closer more comfortable fit across its range of five sizes: X-Small to Small share one shell, the second fits Medium and Large, and the third is for size X-Large. The shell itself is manufactured from light TRICOM, a blend of carbon, aramidic and fibreglass materials, weighing in at a modest 1490g. Another feature unique to Vemar helmets is the use of polyurethane memory foam to manufacture the cheek pads, which retain their shape even after extended use, unlike traditional foam padding.

This helmet is as cool on the inside as it looks from the outside, thanks to the Vemar KLIMA air recycling system that draws in cooling air through push-to-operate vents on the front, which forces out warm air through an exhaust vent beneath the rear spoiler. The plush red lining offers a contrast to the dark exterior and is treated with Antimicrobial Sanitized Protection to ensure it stays fresh. It is also removable and washable.

Vemar’s easy-touch visor release system means that the visor can be removed in seconds with just two clicks and the Italian company has fitted it with a race-inspired ‘safety catch’ to prevent it popping off in a crash situation. It is fastened with a simple to operate quick-release buckle chin strap.

The Vemar VTXE Streetfighter helmet is approved to ECE 22.05, carries the ACU Gold Badge for motorcycle sport and is available in sizes X-Small to X-Large (54 – 62cm) in matt black priced at £149.99.
