DAVID Howe has assured organisers of next month''s Telford ice event that he will be fit to take his place in the line-up for both meetings.
Howe, who is expected to be included in Wolverhampton''s side for the 2008 season, ended the 2007 campaign on the injured list with a damaged shoulder. He was told to take the bulk of the winter off but he has made good progress in his recovery and is now ready to return to the saddle. He will ride for the England Select against the Rest of the World on the afternoon of Sunday, February 24, and then go for glory in the British Open Championship that night (3pm and 7.30pm start times). Said Howe: ''I enjoy doing Telford and now I''ve had a couple of months off I feel pretty good. ''I''m always pleased to be asked to ride at Telford, the timing of it is superb and it will be nice to see everyone again. ''I know it''s a busy day because we have the afternoon and evening sessions and with the nature of the track, where you really have to turn the bike, it will be good to push the shoulder and get it working again. ''It''s a big year for me and it would be great to win some silverware at Telford. I''m sure there will be plenty of Wolverhampton supporters there as well.'' Other names confirmed for the event are Josef ''Pepe'' Franc, new King''s Lynn signing Shaun Tacey, Birmingham duo Phil Morris and Jack Hargreaves and Soke newboy Emiliano Sanchez.
