BUDGET PROTECTION
07 January 2008 - Planet Knox Ltd

New zip-up gilet with back protection

Knox have incorporated a substantial CE-approved back-protector into a zip-up gilet that is comfortable and convenient to wear all-day long and sells for a budget price. This new addition to the Knox range of market leading impact protectors is called the FastBack because it is quick and easy to put on or remove and priced at less than £60 it won’t take customers long to decide to buy one either.

At the core of the FastBack is a full- sized CE-approved back protector that covers the spine and shoulder blades and is manufactured by Knox to surpass the tough new EN1621-2 standard (Level 2). The back protector utilises a Venturi cooling system, a simple yet ingenious design consisting of ridges that act like chimneys to draw hot air up and away from the body. The ridges also act as extra energy absorbers as they compress and change shape in an impact.

Knox chose arrow netting for the main body of the vest. This ultra-strong sport mesh is designed to look as cool as it keeps the wearer. A central zipper fastens it, while the Fastback is held firmly in place with a dual fastening Velcro waist belt that will suit most shapes and sizes. Waist adjustment is provided in the form of IPS side straps (Increased Posture Support), which pull the back protector close into the small of the back for enhanced comfort on arduous rides.

The Knox FastBack is another piece of intelligent British design from Knox. It is produced in a wide variety of sizes (from Small to X-Large) and sells in the shops for £59.99.
