TRACKER’S AWARD WINNING VEHICLE
ASSET MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS
10 November 2004 - Tracker Network (UK) Ltd
TRACKER Network (UK) Ltd, the country’s leading stolen vehicle tracking and retrieval specialist, offers two vehicle asset management (VAM) and telematics systems.
TRACKER Communicator and TRACKER Reporter provide customers with a choice of fleet management systems depending on whether they need a comprehensive system for larger fleets of vehicles or a low-cost system ideal for smaller fleets or fleets with less complex needs. TRACKER Communicator uses global positioning satellite (GPS) and GSM cellular phone technologies to provide the most extensive fleet monitoring, communication and reporting capability in Europe and a total world-wide coverage across 120 countries. With TRACKER Communicator, fleet information can be accessed from the office, home or out on the road. TRACKER’s own Central Monitoring Bureau, established at the company headquarters in Uxbridge, can provide all TRACKER Communicator customers with constant, out-of-hours or emergency monitoring, supplying detailed reports to TRACKER customers. Features unique to TRACKER Communicator include a TRACKER-patented voice reporting system called Talk that enables fleet managers to obtain live reports on vehicle status at any time from any touch-tone telephone anywhere in the world. A 24-hour monitoring facility with an optional driver help desk ensures the most up to date information can always be obtained and gives drivers access to extensive route, travel and services information to aid them while on the road. TRACKER Communicator also provides the most powerful reporting tool, giving a choice of historic and live reports tailored to each customer’s needs, delivering up to 10,000 event reports for each vehicle. And TRACKER Communicator can be accessed through a secure internet site, providing another flexible route to the service. TRACKER Communicator also offers controlled GSM telephone access designed to restrict phone usage to necessary business calls. A unique and simple to operate key fob gives drivers access to a limited menu of pre-programmed call numbers and a security feature enables them to alert HQ using a panic button in the event of the vehicle being hijacked or stolen. Parita Patel, marketing communications manager for TRACKER Network, commented: “TRACKER spent two years developing TRACKER Communicator. We wanted to create a system that can drive up the standard of service and drive down the price. Our aim is to widen the market by positioning this technology within reach of most commercial vehicle operators. They want definite cost benefits and TRACKER Communicator will deliver them.” The ability to know where a vehicle is allows the system user to actively provide a schedule for a vehicle while maximising its use at all times. Consequently, direct cost benefits will come from reduced operating time, lower mileage and fuel savings, more effective use of each vehicle and reduced communications costs. Additionally, TRACKER Communicator will provide operators with indirect cost benefits through improved customer service, as they will have the ability to advise clients of load arrivals or delays, together with proof of delivery and relevant data to support due diligence. TRACKER Reporter: Managers of small fleets, who have previously dismissed VAM systems because of prohibitive hardware and airtime costs, now have the option to choose TRACKER Reporter, a telematics system from TRACKER Network specially designed for smaller fleets or fleets with less complex needs. TRACKER Reporter is an entry level fleet management product with a purchase price of £599 (excluding installation), which allows fleet managers to download historical movement data of vehicles from TRACKER’s own secure web site and to even obtain real-time vehicle locations at any time for a minimal ‘polling’ fee. TRACKER Reporter has been designed to hold up to 2000 events per vehicle such as vehicle position, speed and over speed, start and stop times, cumulative journey time and excessive idle time, an equivalent of approximately 30 days data per vehicle. TRACKER Reporter will allow fleet managers to access previously unavailable data that will empower them to optimise vehicle use at all times, resulting in direct cost benefits due to reduced operating time, greater control and more effective use of each vehicle. Additionally, TRACKER Reporter will provide operators with indirect cost benefits through improved customer service, as they will have the ability to advise clients of load arrivals or delays, together with proof of delivery and relevant data to support due diligence. Parita Patel commented, “Before TRACKER Reporter, there was no effective product on the market specially tailored for smaller fleets. TRACKER Network has filled this gap and can now offer managers of smaller fleets, or those with less complex needs, a cost effective vehicle monitoring solution. The system provides detailed reports on the movements of vehicles helping to take away much of the current monitoring guesswork.” For a demonstration of TRACKER Reporter simply log on as a guest at www.TRACKERrep.com and for a Communicator demonstration, log on to www.TRACKERcom.com.
