YAMAHA FOUNDATION BLOCKS FOR 2008
27 December 2007 - Yamaha Racing

Two new staff members have been enlisted into key positions within the Yamaha Motor UK fold, in line with their objective to be the No1 choice of motorcycle for UK customers.

The first is Charles Bozon (34) who has been employed as the company’s National Sales Manager responsible for the development of the dealer network, Yamaha’s PTW sales force and UK sales strategy.
In fact Bozon has been with the brand for 8 years working within Yamaha Music in a number of different roles from Area Sales Manager to Marketing and Promotions Manager.

He has 18 years experience in sales (both retail and trade) and brings a breadth of knowledge and experience to Yamaha Motor.

A keen sportsman (playing football for a number of teams), his hobbies include music (obviously) playing the sax and drums, was once a member of the England Judo team and also enjoys Kart racing, not to mention being a MotoGP and WSB fan and generally enthusing over all things two-wheeled – an FZ1 Fazer resides in his garage too!

‘When I started at Yamaha Music I wanted to make sure that Yamaha were seen as the one manufacturer that took a close interest in their partners and helped them to take Yamaha to new customers. I hope to bring that same contempory attitude to YMUK with a view to help our dealers developing the Yamaha philosophy of ‘exceeding the expectation of the consumer’, although with such a great year in 2007, I would have thought that only minor improvements are required to ensure Yamaha builds on the success for 2008 and beyond. I will spend the first 6 months listening to what staff, dealers and customers have to say and develop our long term plans based on this information.’

The second key staff member to join the team at Weybridge is Emma Wheeler (32) who has taken up the position of Marketing Co-ordinator. She will be aiding Marketing Manager Simon Belton in the implementation of Yamaha’s marketing plans. Her function will include the management of the motorcycle press fleet, instigation of the company’s attendance at outside events and general promotional activities – a busy time is envisaged!

Many industry insiders would have come across Emma before as she has previous experience with tuning specialist PDQ of Taplow where she gathered a whole myriad of experience including show management and web design plus dealer and customer relations – perfect framework for a life at Yamaha!

Emma has a great affinity with motorcycles especially off-road. A keen competitor, she has raced in both Supermoto and Enduro events – WRs wait in the wings for her to let rip on!
‘I like to think that I have a natural ‘Can-do’ attitude which fits in at Yamaha very well. I hope to encourage our dealer network and affiliates to pick up the phone if they need help and support – that’s what we are here for.’
