SPEEDWAY NEWS 4.11.04
04 November 2004 - British Speedway Promoters Association

NEW Workington boss Graham Drury has expressed an interest in bringing Finnish star Kaj Laukkanen to Derwent Park.

Laukkanen, who rode for Drury at Long Eaton in 1996, was a Grand Prix rider this season and had a spell with Belle Vue. Drury said: ''I know him well, but it would be down to the points averages and would also depend on his continental commitments.''

HULL promoter Paul Hodder says that several riders have already contacted him with a view to joining the Craven Park outfit next season. Changes to the Vikings'' all-conquering line-up are inevitable as they will be well over the points limit, whatever level it is set at. Hodder said: ''I''ve had quite a lot of approaches from riders of all levels interested in coming to race for us next season.''
