SPORTY SACHS SCOOTER IS A FORCE FOR VALUE Germany''s oldest motorcycle manufacturer is poised to launch a sporty new 2-stroke scooter that offers the styling and performance associated with European models at a price that is closer to budget Chinese products. Named the Speedforce, Sachs manufacture this stylish scooter in China to keep production costs low, with assistance from their German engineering staff, to keep quality high. Whether judged in terms of looks or specification, the Speedforce has got what it takes to compete in the sports scooter market. The view from the front reveals angular bodywork, twin headlights, sports mirrors and a mini fairing around the dashboard. Its 12'' black 6-spoke alloy wheels are fitted with sports profile tyres and the 160mm front disc brake provides more than adequate stopping power. The Speedforce also impresses from the sides, with many styling cues from the world of sports motorcycles, including low profile front mudguard and rear hugger, belly pan, sports silencer with alloy heat shield and single rear shock absorber. Its 50cc air-cooled 2-stroke motor meets current European emissions requirements and delivers responsive acceleration and at only 87KG this is one of the lighter scooters on the market, giving it a good power-to-weight ratio. It is thus manoeuvrable and easy to park too. The generous seat will carry a rider and passenger in comfort and there is a well-sized luggage rack for times when extra carrying capacity is required. The Sachs Speedforce will be available in blue or red and will retail for £1,199- on the road, including a 2-year warranty.
